AngloINFO Lisbon is Portugal’s first AngloINFO region. The region, which takes in the two sub regions of Grande Lisboa and the Setúbal Peninsula, offers a wide variety of options with beaches, countryside and mountains. It includes the beautiful old city of Lisbon (Lisboa), Estoril and Cascais on the Costa de Lisboa and Setúbal about 40 Kms south of Lisbon.
Built on seven hills on the north bank of the Tagus estuary, Lisbon is the westernmost capital city in Europe and enjoys one of the warmest climates. Supposedly founded by Ulysses in pre-Roman times, Lisbon has a rich and varied history. Lisbon has always been an important port and although the docks have moved, the monuments remaining in Belém are a reminder of the city's maritime past during the Age of Discovery. The world’s most prosperous trading centre in the 15th and 16th centuries, the city was virtually destroyed by a massive earthquake in 1755.
Acting Manager of AngloINFO Lisbon is Fiona Aris. Fiona worked for many years in magazine publishing before moving abroad to live in Norway, Greece and Italy. On her return to the UK she worked in media recruitment and in business teaching before joining AngloINFO as Business Development Director. She has two teenage sons, James and Nick and spends much of her spare time trying to persuade them to get up and do some work or transporting them to and from rugby matches!
AngloINFO Lisbon provides those living in the Lisbon area - or planning a move there from elsewhere - all the features and benefits to which AngloINFO's users around the world are accustomed.
