Catalonia is one of the 17 Spanish autonomous communities, at the extreme north east of the country. Separated into four provinces, it covers an area of 31,950 square kilometres, and includes the often-snowy heights of the Pyrenees mountain range as well as the sun-drenched Mediterranean beaches of the Costa Brava and Costa Dorada.
Acting Manager of AngloINFO Barcelona is Fiona Aris. Fiona worked for many years in magazine publishing before moving abroad to live in Norway, Greece and Italy. On her return to the UK she worked in media recruitment and in business teaching before joining AngloINFO as Business Development Director. She has two teenage sons, James and Nick and spends much of her spare time trying to persuade them to get up and do some work or transporting them to and from rugby matches!
Barcelona, the commercial heart of the region, is fast becoming one of Europe's younger, more thriving cities, while the towns and villages of the costas are still cherished by those seeking quality of life.
